Judge lets church challenge land deal

KUANTAN: The High Court has granted leave to the Catholic Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur for a judicial review against the Government’s decision to acquire part of the St Thomas Church land in Jalan Gambut.

Datuk Bastian Vendargon, acting for Rev Tan Sri Murphy Pakiam, said Justice Mariana Yah­ya also granted a stay on any acquisition process by the aut­horities concerned pending the disposition of the judicial rev­iew.
