Police hunting two men who robbed goldsmith

KOTA KINABALU: A hunt is on for two men armed with a pistol believed to have robbed a goldsmith at a house in Austral Park near the city on Wednesday. Kota Kinabalu city police chief Assist Comm Jauteh Dikun said the man in his 40s lodged a report regarding the incident near the state capital.

The goldsmith had just returned home after supper with friends at about 3.30am, when two men approached him just outside his house gate. The two men were said to have then pointed a pistol at him, and forced him to enter the house before tying him up. The goldsmith's wife who was still awake that time was also tied up, before the armed men started raiding the house and carted away jewellery, handphones and cash among others. “The losses are believed about RM60,000, and police are now hunting for the two men,” Jauteh said.
