Chong Wei, Pandelela awarded Gold Medal of Excellence by Conference of Rulers

KUALA LUMPUR: In an unprecedented gesture, the Conference of Rulers Thursday awarded the Gold Medal of Excellence to national badminton ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei and diving queen Pandelela Rinong Pamg in appreciation of their contribution in bringing glory to the country.

The Keeper of the Rulers' Seal, Datuk Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, said in a statement this was the first time that the Conference of Rulers had bestowed the medal on sports personalities.
