IPOH: Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the online registration for BR1M 2.0 was beyond expectations.
"In just two days from Nov 1 to Nov 2, we have received 148,000 applications online.
"This response shows that online system has become a convenience to everyone," he said after the ground-breaking ceremony of the Asrama Anak-Anak Yatim dan Warga Miskin Budi Mulia Nurul Huda's new building complex site in Chemor on Saturday.
Ahmad Husni said the registration was mainly for single individuals entitled for the RM250 handout, and households that did not receive the RM500 BR1M aid earlier this year.
"For those who have received the aid this year, they need not apply again as their names are already in the system.
"They only need to notify us if there is a change of address or the head of the household have passed away," he said, adding that applicants could also use the application forms from government agencies apart from the online method.
