KUALA LUMPUR: The Global Movement of Moderates (GMM) can be the substance and soul of Asean given its emphasis on moderation, said Asean secretary-general Dr Surin Pitsuwan.

Dr Surin said GMM, which was the brainchild of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, could complement the Asean charter and help the body move forward and connect further with the global community.
