Grand farewell for emperors

Sea-ing off their gods: Devotees from the Magazine Road Tow Boo Keong Kew Ong Tai Tay temple on their way to the middle of the sea to set the yellow ceremonial boat ablaze.

GEORGE TOWN: The Kew Ong Yeah (Nine Emperor Gods) were sent back to heaven with much pomp and grandeur as thousands of devotees converged at various temples dedicated to the nine brother deities here to bid them adieu.

Prior to the grand processions, devotees flocked to the temples on the festival's final day to offer prayers and receive blessings from the mediums who were in a trance.
