Top lady golfers raise funds for cancer research

KUALA LUMPUR: The world's top lady golfers raised more than RM800,000 for the Cancer Research Initiative Foundation (Carif) at a charity gala dinner graced by the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

World number one Yani Tseng and her fellow golfers Paula Creamer, Na Yeon Choi, Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr, Ai Miyazato and Natalie Gulbis put up personal items like autographed clubs, shoes, golf caps and shirts for sale in an auction during the dinner. A Wie driver was sold for RM45,000, and a Gulbis putter went for RM20,000, while a pair of Creamer-signed shoes was sold for RM10,000.
