MELBOURNE: The Malaysian who was found guilty for the murder of cardiac surgeon Victor Chang will be released on parole, with the Supreme Court rejecting an attempt by New South Wales Attorney-General Greg Smith to keep him behind bars.
Liew Chiew Seng, who fired two fatal shots at Dr Chang in a failed extortion attempt in 1991, was granted parole by the State Parole Authority last month.
