KUALA LUMPUR: Summonses against errant road users caught under the Automated Enforcement System (AES) will be issued by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) only after it has verified that an offence has indeed been committed.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri told the Dewan Rakyat Thursday that ATES Sdn Bhd and Bina Tegap Sdn Bhd - the two companies appointed to install the cameras - were not tasked with issuing summonses.
