GEORGE TOWN: Despite becoming a paraplegic after a road accident in 1999, Khu Li Huang has never let her disability come in the way of her dreams to become a lecturer.

The 29-year-old from Bandar Baru, Kedah, who won the Gold Medal Award for Best Physically Challenged Student in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), dedicated the honour to her mother who had been supporting her through her three years of studies.
