GEORGE TOWN: Penang Barisan Nasional Youth presented RM5,000 to the police here as a reward for successfully tracking down the snatch thief who caused a 60-year-old woman to lose her life.

Its chief Oh Tong Keong said the wing had offered the money to anyone who could identify the culprit responsible for the death of Tan Kim Chuan at the Padang Tembak flat parking lot here on July 10.

"As leaders, we hold to every promise we make irrespective of whom we directed it to.

"Hence, it is our unanimous decision to present it to the police even though we are aware it is their duty to solve the case," he told reporters said after handing over the reward, to be deposited into the police welfare fund, to state police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi. - Bernama
