KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM720mil was paid by the Social Security Organisations (Socso) to contributors involved in commuting accidents from January last year until June this year.
Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said from January to June this year, 30,575 accident cases were reported to Socso with commuting mishaps making up one-third of the total at 12,893 cases, mostly involving motorcyclists and which also led to fatalities.
