PETALING JAYA: Parties who made threats against the producer, director and cast of the film Tanda Putera has been urged to stop.

Pesona Pictures Sdn Bhd managing director and the film director, Datin Shuhaimi Baba said the threats had put pressure on the crew and cast of Tanda Putera.

Many allegations were made by those who were not even fans of local films after the 90-second movie trailer was posted online.

She said that some even asked Malaysians to boycott the historical movie.

“We have explained many times and reiterated that there is no character of a DAP leader in the film,” she said here yesterday.

The movie protrayed the struggle of second Malaysian prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and his deputy, Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, who restored the nation after the traumatic May 13, 1969 incident and their untimely deaths. - Bernama
