KUALA LUMPUR: Years of uncontrolled logging and mining activities have threatened the ecosystem of Tasik Chini, possibly leading to the “death” of the second largest fresh water lake in Malaysia by 2030, warned environmentalists.

“Rapid economic development such as logging and mining at Tasik Chini since the 1990s had severely affected the ecosystem and the livelihood of the Jakun community.
