KUCHING: Beaufort MP Datuk Lajim Ukim will not reply to the show-cause letter issued to him by Umno.
He said that he has 14 days to reply, after which Umno would consider the form of action to be taken against him based on the party's constitution.
“I received the show-cause letter stating why I should not be expelled from the party on July 30 after I quit all posts in Umno and Barisan Nasional.
“But it is unlikely that I will reply because even if I did, the party will still sack me,” he said here yesterday.
On July 8, Lajim announced that he was resigning as Umno supreme council member, Beaufort Umno chief and Beaufort Barisan chairman with immediate effect.
However, he had chosen to remain with Umno and keep his portfolio as Housing and Local Government deputy minister.
He had also declared the proposed setting-up of the “Pakatan Perubahan Sabah”, or Sabah Reform Front, and aligned himself with Pakatan Rakyat.
Also present at the press conference were PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and its pro-tem president Tan Sri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir.
