KLUANG: Two convicts who had each served more than 30 years in jail are now free to go home to their loved ones after they were given a royal pardon by the Sultan of Johor on the first day of Ramadan.
Safwan, who was sentenced to death for drug trafficking more than 32 years ago, and Samsuddin, who was sentenced 36 years ago to life imprisonment for a firearms crime, were among eight prisoners released yesterday.
