KUANTAN: One of the detainees held for camping outside the Mentri Besar's office on Tuesday was rushed to the hospital due to dehydration.

S. Kamaladevi, 56, was said to be suffering from hypertension. She experienced shortness of breath and fainted in the magistrate's court lock-up. She was rushed to the Kuantan Hospital in a police van.

Kamaladevi was in a group of Cameron Highlands smallholders who had set up camp outside the Mentri Besar's office outside Wisma Sri Pahang demanding that Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob give them a meeting date to resolve land issues.

They were detained after a five-hour standoff with the police.
