THE Road Transport Department hopes the proposed increase in fines for three traffic offences will be a deterrent and reduce road fatalities.
RTD deputy director-general Datuk Ismail Ahmad said the three traffic offences – driving without a licence, exceeding the speed limit and ignoring traffic signals – had also resulted in damage to public property.
