PENAMPANG: The month-long Pesta Kaamatan celebrations drew to a colourful close with pomp and splendour here as Sabahans expressed gratitude for another bountiful harvest.
Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin led the closing ceremony at the Hong-kod Koisaan (Unity Hall) here by taking part in a symbolic padi-harvesting ritual before beating the gong seven times, signalling the end of the most important celebration for the Kadazandusun, Murut and Rungus communities.
