Hong Kong billionaire charged with bribery


HONG Kong billionaire Joseph Lau Luen-hun has been charged with bribery and money laundering, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.

The real estate investor and another tycoon, Steven Lo Kit-sing, were said to have given a large sum of money to former Macau secretary for transport and public works Ao Man-long.

The money was to secure five parcels of land adjoining Macau International Airport, the court alleged.

Lau was linked to many celebrities, including Michelle Reis, Ada Choi and Rosamund Kwan.

He divorced his wife the late Theresa Bo Wing-kam - in 1992. They have two children.

Lau has another two children with his partner Yvonne Lui and another daughter with Chan Hoi-wan a former entertainment reporter with Apple Daily.

> China Press reported that a deviant cult, named Po Lo Gau in Cantonese, has spread to Hong Kong from Thailand. The cult, which has over 20 members, was said to be active in the New Territories.

It was founded by a 26-year-old youth, identified only as Yip or known to the followers as Ah-Jam Ming, reported Hong Kong's Apple Daily.
