MAIPP blamed for poor management of burial issue

GEORGE TOWN: Two top religious officers here have been criticised for not consulting the Penang Mufti Datuk Seri Hassan Ahmad over how best to handle the issue of fisherman Khoo Boo Soo who had passed away without informing his family here of his conversion to Islam.

Former Penang PAS Youth chief Mohamed Hafiz Nordin said the Penang Religious Council (MAIPP) president Abdul Malik Abdul Kassim and his deputy Datuk Mohd Salleh Man should have consulted Hassan, as he is the states top cleric over resolving the issue instead of negotiating directly with Boo Soos family here.
