LOCAL television stations ntv7 and TV3 have agreed to allot more airtime for Tamil programmes, reported Makkal Osai.
Deputy Information, Communi-cations and Culture Minister Datuk Maglin Dennis D' Cruz said this during a press conference at Parliament on Monday.
He said both stations were looking into the possibility of screening locally-produced entertainment shows and dramas in the evenings by September, this year.
“ntv7 is also willing to screen Tamil films during weekends if there are sponsors and advertisers.
“TV3 has agreed to screen Tamil shows during festive occasions.”

Police said that about 17 years ago, T. Kasiram from Sankarpatti had got into a quarrel with some people over the installation of streetlights in the village. P.Kalimuthu and his relatives had attacked Kasiram, resulting in his death.
Kasiram's son K. Ramaguru was only seven years old then and the family left the village.
The thirst for revenge made Ramaguru go back to Sankarpatti and attack Kalimuthu with a sickle killing him on the spot.
