GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) has saved hundreds of cobras and turtles from the cooking pot scheduled to be shipped to Hong Kong.
Penang Perhilitan director Jamalun Nasir Ibrahim said the department rescued 555 cobras and 171 turtles at the KLAS Cargo Complex in Batu Maung in a joint operation with the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (Maqis).
