KUALA LUMPUR: Cinema operators have been given a new weapon in their war against piracy with a new amendment to the Copyright Act 1987.
A person attempting to record a movie at a cinema now can be slapped with a RM10,000 to RM100,000 fine or a jail term of not more than five years, or both.
