Malaysia wins three 2012 PATA Gold Awards


KUALA LUMPUR: Indicating the successful branding and marketing of the country as a premier tourist destination, Malaysia received three PATA Gold Awards at the international membership association’s annual conference held at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The coveted prizes bagged are in the categories of Marketing – Primary Government Destination, which features a seven-minute long video titled A Million Experiences to Share on experiencing the country; Marketing Media – Travel Poster, for beautifully-taken photographs of local diving, the orang utan, Mount Kinabalu, Homestay and Siti Khadijah Market in Kota Bharu, Kelantan; and the Environment Education Programme, won by the Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa for the management of its waste water system.
