Quake: Tsunami watch on, but no need to panic, says Met Dept


PETALING JAYA: An Indian Ocean-wide tsunami watch is in effect after the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) issued a tsunami warning that involves 28 countries at 5.45pm.

This came a little more than an hour after an 8.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the west coast of Indonesia's northern Sumatra region.
