KUALA LUMPUR: From next year, Muslims can check the halal content of an imported product in the market via the Halal Verified Engine (HVE) system through the Malaysian Islamic Development Department's (Jakim) website.
Jakim director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha said the system was developed by the department with Dagang Halal Berhad at a cost of RM3.5mil including promotional cost.
