KUALA LUMPUR: The grand opening of the Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Grand Prix KL 2012 was held at the KL Tower with pomp and glamour.

Hosted in partnership with City Hall, the event themed “Fantasies In The Sky” was launched at the tower’s Open Deck by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Haminah Hamidun last night.

The event, presented by Mercedes-Benz, paid tribute to local legendary performing artistes Saloma and P. Ramlee.

It also featured a flashback on the artistes’ influence on fashion in the 1960s through the “Saloma and P. Ramlee: A Fashion Fantasy Perspective”.

Also present was the host of the evening Kuala Lumpur Mayor Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, guest-of-honour Datuk Jimmy Choo, Stylo International Chief Executive Officer and founder Datuk Nancy Yeoh and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Presi-dent and CEO Roland Folger.

During the event, Tuanku Haminah put the finishing touches to a specially-designed outfit made from popcorn. The Star is the media partner for Stylo.
