Fine and jail term for not displaying halal cert and logo


KUALA LUMPUR: Effective July 1, food operators who fail to display the halal certificate and logo issued by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) will face a fine and jail term.

Jakim's halal hub division director Hakimah Mohd Yusoff said there would be monitoring done throughout the country with the cooperation of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.
