JOHOR BARU: A suspect, in his 30s, believed to be the biological father of slained five-year-old Nurul Nadirah Abdullah, was brought to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital mortuary Wednesday to pay his last respects to the girl.

The man, handcuffed and in police lockup uniform, was escorted by three policemen as they arrived at the hospital at around 10am.

Before entering the building, Nurul Nadirah's grandmother, Milnah Jul, 52, rushed to hug the man and told him to be patient.

The man spent about 10 minutes inside the mortuary. Also present were Nurul Nadirah's mother Roselyn Alan, 25, and stepfather Lima Medeng, 25.

Nurul Nadirah was later buried at Kampung Pertanian Masai Muslim Cemetery at about 1.30pm.
