THE Dewan Rakyat saw a heated argument between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Khairy Jamaluddin (BN-Rembau) over the issue of Israel when the latter insisted that the Opposition leader’s support for the security of Israel was “absolute” rather than one with conditions.
During an interview with the Wall Street Journal recently, Anwar had reportedly said he supported “all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel” and that any change to the status quo would remain contingent on Israel recognising the aspirations of the Palestinians.
