PETALING JAYA: The Election Commission (EC) has allayed suspicion over the spike in new voters in rural areas, saying that the increase was due to the campaigns conducted by the commission.
Calling the surge as “nothing surprising”, EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusof said political parties from both sides of the divide helped encourage people to register as voters.
