KUALA LUMPUR: The Foreign Correspondents Club of Malaysia (FCCM) will be launched here on March 19 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The FCCM, a non-profit organisation set up in May last year, has about 100 members and is aimed at assisting foreign correspondents in Malaysia.

It also helps to foster camaraderie among foreign and local journalists, news makers, diplomats as well as public relations officials from government agencies and corporations.

FCCM president Romen Bose said Najib was expected to deliver an address and take part in a question-and-answer session on Malaysian politics, the economy and the Government's social policies.

The club regularly holds panel discussions on current affairs and invites some of Malaysia's key decision-makers to address its members.

Notable personalities and dignitaries who have been involved in its events include International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, DAP publicity chief Tony Pua and US ambassador to Malaysia Paul W. Jones.

Any queries on the event can be forwarded to MalaysiaForeignCorrespondents@gmail.com.
