July 23 date for trial of Terengganu govt defamation suit


KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here fixed three days, from July 23, for the trial of a civil suit filed by the Terengganu state government against a state assemblyman and three others over a defamatory article implying that it has mismanaged a contract for school uniforms and stationery.

High Court Judge Justice Amelia Tee Hong Geok Abdullah set the date after meeting counsel Edynoor Hiefnee Razali who acted for the plaintiffs and Azhana Mohd Khairudin for defendants Batu Burok state assemblyman Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi and three others.
