No lawyers for many as NLAF yet to take off


KUALA LUMPUR: Many accused are still not represented at their sentencing because the National Legal Aid Foundation has yet to begin operations.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched NLAF almost a year ago with a grant of RM5mil, noting that 80% of the accused were unrepresented.
