MALACCA: Malaysian maritime authorities and marine police have foiled an attempt to smuggle eight foreigners to Australia from Indonesia, off the Pulau Upeh coast here.
State police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye said the eight, including a one-year-old child, were travelling in an Indonesian-registered boat when it was spotted by authorities about three nautical miles from the island at about 10pm on Monday.
