KUCHING: Betong in Sarawak may be starting small but is determined to emerge as a major rubber-producing hub within a decade and wipe out poverty in the area.
Betong Division deputy resident (development) Pathi Kerni said currently, some 11,000 hectares of land in the division had been planted with rubber by the Agriculture Department under the rubber mini-estate (RME) programme.
