KUALA LUMPUR: The Parliamentary Services Act should be reintroduced to provide for the establishment of a permanent Parliamentary Select Committee on Human Rights.
Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the Act, which was repealed in 1992, was needed because currently only five permanent select committees were provided for under parliamentary rules while the Government was empowered to form a special select committee.
