Judge dismisses defence application to cite prosecution


SHAH ALAM: The High Court here has dismissed an application by the defence to cite for contempt the prosecution in the murder trial of cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya.

In his ruling yesterday, Justice Akhtar Tahir said the prosecution had full power to initiate a prosecution before a criminal judge whenever it wanted, adding that such a move was not subjected to contempt of court.
