Increasing padi yield key to self-sufficiency

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government will ensure sufficient production of rice by focusing on improving padi yield.

Farmers’ Organisation Authority’s Farm Production Division deputy director Mohd Rashid Awang said to guarantee optimum padi yields, the Government would improve the irrigation systems of padi growing areas due to the importance of water in the cultivation of quality padi.
