PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has temporarily banned the importation of horses from Australia as a precautionary measure, following the outbreak of the deadly Hendra virus in that country.
Since the outbreak of the Hendra virus in Australia last month, the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), on July 8, advised the Malaysian horse-racing fraternity on the temporary restriction order until further notice.
