King attends Conference of Rulers

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin attended the 224th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at the Istana Negara here on Thursday.

The King arrived at Istana Negara at 11.30am accompanied by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The meeting, which began on Wednesday and was chaired by Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, was attended by all the Malay rulers except for Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, who underwent surgery for appendicitis on Tuesday at Pantai Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

Terengganu was represented by Tengku Seri Bendahara Raja Tengku Mustaffa Kamel and Kedah by Tunku Bendahara Datuk Seri Tunku Annuar Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah.

Except for Kelantan, the Malay rulers were accompanied by the Mentri Besar of their respective states while the the Yang Di-pertua Negeri of Penang, Sabah and Malacca were accompanied by their respective chief ministers.

The Kelantan Sultan was accompanied by Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah, who represented the Mentri Beesar while the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak came with Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, who represented the Chief Minister. - Bernama
