Hindus rush for gold during auspicious ‘Akshaya Tritiya’

KLANG: Indians in the country, particularly Hindus, may have few auspicious days to celebrate festive periods, but yesterday was one of a kind – it was to buy gold ornaments.

It is a belief among Hindus that buying gold on Akshaya Tritiya, one of the four most auspicious days of the Vedic calendar, would bring everlasting prosperity and success.
