Court throws out Eskay’s RM20mil suit

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, who recently shocked the nation by exposing a sex video implicating an Opposition leader, failed in his RM20mil civil suit against Merong Mahawangsa Sdn Bhd for breach of contract involving the Malaysia-Singapore International Gateway project.

High Court Justice V.T. Singham ruled that Eskay was not entitled to claim remuneration for allegedly procuring the project, not because it was opposed to public policy but due to the plaintiff (Eskay) agreeing to refund the amount of RM20mil in part or thereof, if the award was terminated and the project cancelled.
