Acid attack dad let off the hook


GEORGE TOWN: A former Penang Municipal Council licensing officer was acquitted by the High Court here on two counts of murdering his wife and grievously hurting his daughter by splashing acid on them.

Justice Zamani Abdul Rahim ruled that Tan Teik Swee, 54, was of unsound mind when he killed Chong Swee Lin, 50, and hurt Tan Hui Linn, 19, at their home in Jalan Batu Lanchang here at 3am on Oct 24, 2009.
