Teoh case: Selangor government withdraws from inquiry

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state government has withdrawn from the Commission of Inquiry (CI) into Teoh Beng Hock's death on the third day of the inquiry.

The move comes one day after Teoh’s family also withdrew their participation when their counsels Karpal Singh and Gobind Singh Deo failed to get CI chairman Tan Sri James Foong Cheng Yuen to recuse himself. The state government’s counsel Malik Imtiaz Sarwar said the decision to withdraw from the inquiry was made due to several issues which questioned the efficacy of the proceedings.
