KUALA LUMPUR: A Sessions Court judge said imprisonment had to be set as a “new benchmark” for market manipulation in view of the gravity of the offence.
“Market manipulation offences are serious as they undermine investors’ confidence and the integrity of our securities market,” said judge S.M. Komathy Suppiah.
