Jilted man resorts to bomb hoax


REJECTION by his girlfriend prompted a 32-year-old man to send a hoax SMS about a bomb exploding at the state government secretariat in Chennai, Makkal Osai reported.

V. Thyagarajan from Poonamal­lee, southern Chennai was arrested on Monday after the police traced him through the mobile phone he had used to send the SMS.

Thya­ga­ra­jan said he had to find a way to vent his frustration when his girlfriend left him.

According to Malaysia Nanban, Murugiah, who is in charge of the Public Complaints Bureau, said the bureau had received complaints that some employers cheated foreign workers by not paying them.

He said he would meet the Immigration Department to solve the issue.
