KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck off northern Sumatra, Indonesia, at 8.01am Thursday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said.
The quake occured at a depth of 52km, 190km southeast of Banda Aceh and 466km southwest of Bayan Lepas (Penang).
