IT WAS a record of sorts in Malaysia’s parliamentary history – four MPs suspended in a single day. And this took place on the last day of the year’s Parliament sitting.
Suspended for six months until June 15 at the order of Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia were Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PKR-Permatang Pauh), Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor), R. Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) and Mohd Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak).
